Billy Souter Primitive Living is the business trading name of William Souter, a sole trader.
Billy Souter Primitive Living do the upmost to ensure a quality course is delivered and a safe working environment throughout for both students and instructor. Due to the nature of these courses including content and the environment in which the courses are being taught there is always a present possibility of potential injury/danger to life regardless of the precautions and risk assessments untaken by the instructor. Anybody booking onto a course must acknowledge these risks and accept they are responsible for themselves as well as for any participant under the age of 18 they are accompanying throughout the course.
By booking onto a course with Billy Souter Primitive Living you are declaring the following:
You are aware of the risks and take full personal responsibility of your own safety for the duration of the course as well as being fully responsible for any participant you are accompanying under the age of 18 (16+).
You will always follow instructions given to you by the instructor, failing to do so may result in injury or death.
You are physically fit enough to take part in the course you have selected.
Terms and Conditions 2023/2024
Payment:
-Course bookings are taken and paid for directly via the websites store, private bookings are payable by bank transfer with details provided upon request.
-Full cost of course must be paid upfront when booking.
-Course bookings are refundable if notified 4 weeks prior to the course. Within 4 weeks of the course, bookings are non refundable.
-Bookings are confirmed when full payment has been made along with a completed form which you will be asked to fill out upon selecting a course. Once these are received you will be sent an email with booking confirmation and additional information relating to the course.
Cancellations By Us:
-If prior to or during a course it is deemed unsafe due to extreme weather and the course must be cancelled the date will be rescheduled and if participants are unable to attend the amended date a full refund will be given.
-If a course is cancelled prior due to exceptional circumstances regarding the instructor and they are unable to run the course, again a full refund will be given.
-If the instructor must stop a course at any point due to unsafe/rebellious behaviour from a member of the group, there will be no refunds given.
-If any participants of the group on a course are evidently under the influence of drugs or alcohol the course will be stopped and no refunds given.
Responsibility:
-Participants are aware of the risks surrounding these courses and take full personal responsibility for their own safety for the duration of the course as well as being fully responsible for any participant you are accompanying under the age of 18 (16+).
-Always follow instructions given to you by the instructor, failing to do so may result in injury or death.
-All participants must complete a form when making a booking. If relevant medical information that the instructor should be aware of is missing from the form and an injury/accident occurs during the course due to lack of sufficient medical information the participant bares full responsibility.
-Participants are recommended to consider personal insurance should you require it.
-Participants are responsible for their personal belongings and equipment, Billy Souter Primitive Living will not accept responsibility. All necessary safety equipment and tools will be provided by the instructor.
-Participants are responsible for their own medical/rescue fees should an injury/incident occur and the emergency services are required.
-Participants must not cut down or remove any plants/trees/fungi during the course unless told to do so by the instructor.
-Participants are expected to carry their own belongings from the group meeting point to the course basecamp.
-If insistent on bringing your own knife the instructor must inspect that it is suitable, if asked not to use your own knife please respect that decision. Axes and saws are prohibited and must not be bought on a course.
Miscellaneous:
-Billy Souter Primitive Living will not share your personal information with any other companies unless granted permission.
-Participants agree that any photography or video taken of the group/themselves during a course can be used by Billy Souter Primitive Living for promotion and advertising purposes as we see fit.
-Participants not wanting to have their photo taken must make this known via email prior to the course.
Billy Souter Primitive Living has Public Liability Insurance of £5,000,000.
